Season
Our Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé captures summer in a glass. Aromas of fresh berries combine with subtle hints of summer herbs such as basil and thyme. The flavours on the palate are reminiscent of juicy watermelon and red cherries, finishing with a crisp refreshing texture (like crunching on pomegranate seeds). To be enjoyed all year round.
The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested and pressed in cool temperatures to protect and enhance aromatics while taking the desired amount of colour. Clear juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks using selected aromatic and textural yeast strains at cool temperatures. This rosé wine is left on yeast lees for a closely monitored period to build palate weight without compromising freshness.
The Marlborough growing season started off well with very little frost pressure during spring. Flowering went without a hitch, due to healthy soil moisture levels and settled weather. This resulted in balanced crop levels and vibrant, lush canopies. The start of 2022 summer was slightly cooler; February was below the long-term average in temperature with intermittent rain fall, the weather eventually settled allowing for optimal ripening conditions.
