Grown on the Northern Bank of the Awatere River, the varying gravel and silt soils of Taylors Pass Vineyard create intriguing, complex wines.
This sheltered vineyard site expresses aromas of ripe blackberries and blueberries with hints of subtle dried herbs. Intricately structured with velvety smooth tannins.
Summer was dry and mild with Marlborough's signature high sunshine hours and cool nights delivering fruit in the best possible condition. the early autumn season provided Marlborough with very stable weather conditions therefore fruit was able to reach optimum physiological and flavour ripeness. The fruit was impeccably clean and the lower yields meant that the grapes packs a punch in flavour and concentration.
Taylors Pass Vineyard sits on the northern bank of the Awatere River, running east to west through the Awatere Valley and out to the Clifford Bay in the Pacific Ocean. The vineyard is warm and sheltered from the cool southerly breezes that flow down through the valley from the mountains.
