Vintage 2022
Description

Winemaking
This wine expresses aromas of ripe cherry and raspberry, intermingled with subtle spiced notes of cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, flavours of cranberry and juicy pomegranate with hints of freshly roasted coffee beans flow to a finish of soft cocoa like-tannins.
The 2022 growing season started off well with very little frost pressure during spring. Flowering went without a hitch due to healthy soil moisture levels and settled weather, leading to balanced crop levels and lush canopies. The start of summer was slightly cooler; February temperatures were below the long-term average with intermittent rain fall. The weather eventually settled allowing for optimal ripening conditions.
The Private Bin Pinot Noir is a blend from specially chosen vineyards throughout Marlborough's Awatere and Wairau Valleys. The varying soil types and meso-climates offer a complex array of flavours, aromas and textures to the wine.

Dynamic

Marlborough

The dynamic climate of Marlborough helps to produce rich and ripe parcels of fruit. Warm oceanic days concentrate the sugars and cool alpine influenced nights preserve the naturally high acidity within the Pinot Noir grapes. Within Marlborough, sub-regions such as the Wairau, Awatere and Southern Valleys all offer specific expressions of Pinot Noir.
