And with that our first range of fully organic and vegan friendly* wines were born, showcasing organically grown wines that reflect the thriving New Zealand lands that gave them life. We’ve called this premium organic wine range EarthGarden.
Our exciting new EarthGarden range includes Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2020, Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019 and Hawke’s Bay Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2019. Each of these sustainable sippers are uniquely delicious, each vibrant, juicy and bursting with flavour. From the lively soils that ripen our grapes combined with our minimal intervention, EarthGarden is the purest expression of Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay terroir – the land, soil, climate and environment – and a true reflection of the natural flavour of the grapes. Our organic winegrowing practices mean we’re able to craft wines with lifted aromatics and flavours that are fresh, fruit-forward and alive – just as nature intended.
100% organically grown and BioGro certified, every grape used to make our EarthGarden range is grown in pesticide-free vineyards and untreated, pesticide-free soil. The wines are co created with nature in soil where the various organisms naturally work in tandem with one another. In our organic vineyards the soil is alive with more organisms in one tablespoon of healthy soil than there are people on earth. Because the practice is pesticide free, no chemicals are leached into the soils and waterways, meaning a safer home for bees and other beneficial insects that encourage a flourishing ecosystem. The extra life that can be seen in our organic vineyards is showcased on the beautiful labelling of this range, showing the flowers and the bees that find life in our organic vineyards.
EarthGarden triumphs our strong sustainability credentials and continued commitment to organic winegrowing. This range also marks an important step towards our ambitious target to manage all Villa Maria owned vineyards organically by 2030.
